The 12-under Arlington Sage girls travel softball team won the recent Crushers Smackdown tournament in Nokesville with a 5-1 record over two days.
The Sage defeated the Vienna Smash, 14-1, in the championship game of the 12B bracket.
In the final, every Sage player reached base and Harper Bryant homered and threw a one-hitter. Natalie Wellner hit an inside-the-park home run.
In the semifinals, the Sage blew out the Shenandoah Valley Patriots, 13-1, behind 12 hits. In a first-round playoff victory, the Sage downed the Post 290 Bombers of Fredericksburg, 13-3, behind three hits from Grace Parker.
In pool-play action, the Sage finished 2-1, defeating the Patriots and Vienna and losing to Loudoun Inferno, 9-4.
The Sage amassed 57 hits in the six games.
Other contributing players for the Sage were Anna Rizzolo, Silvey Ward, Charlotte Aber, Ella Bryant, Tatiana Stroble, Vivian McBride, Claire Montminy, Becca Pyser and Shannon Kirrane.
The team is coached by Scott Montminy, Tim Stroble, Jim Porter and Graham McBride.
