Arlington County police are investigating a crash near the Pentagon that killed two teens Saturday night.
The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. on southbound Route 110 at Washington Blvd.
Initial reports suggested that a vehicle with three people inside crashed into a concrete barrier. Two people were reportedly pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.
All three were taken to local hospitals. Police remained on scene to investigate the crash amid rain and storms.
On Sunday afternoon, police said the crash happened when a BMW sedan driving at a high speed sideswiped a Lexus, ran off the side of the road and struck a concrete barrier. There were three teens in the BMW, two of whom succumbed to their injuries while the driver remains in critical condition.

The Arlington County Police Department is investigating a fatal vehicle crash which occurred on the evening of May 3, 2025.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., police were dispatched to SB Route 110 at Washington Boulevard for the report of a crash with injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a BMW sedan was traveling southbound on Route 110 at a high rate of speed when they struck a Lexus, resulting in minor damage, before exiting the roadway and striking a concrete barrier.
The three occupants of the BMW, all juvenile males in their teens, were transported to area hospitals. The two passengers succumbed to their injuries and both were pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver remains hospitalized in critical condition. No injuries were reported to the occupants of the Lexus.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld in accordance with Virginia Code § 19.2-11.2 which limits Virginia law enforcement agencies from directly or indirectly identifying deceased juveniles.
