ACPD plans ‘community meetings’ about local issues and crime prevention

The Arlington County Police Department will begin hosting quarterly “community meetings” starting this month.

At the meetings, police will be “covering community issues, crime prevention tips and addressing quality of life concerns,” ACPD announced in a press release. Topics include the following.

  • The Online Crime Data Hub
  • Community Connect presented by the Arlington County Fire Department
  • Recent crime trends
  • General/seasonal safety tips and resources
  • Answers to pre-submitted questions from community members

The first meeting is scheduled to happen from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 at the Lubber Run Community Center at 300 N. Park Drive.

A second meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22 at the Arlington Mill Community Center at 909 S. Dinwiddie Street.

All are welcome to attend the meetings and pre-submit questions on topics of concern, ACPD said. Both meetings will include a virtual component, allowing residents to participate without physically attending.

Future meetings have yet to be scheduled, but the events are expected to rotate around various Arlington locations.
