Many Arlington players chosen all-district in girls and boys lacrosse

Nearly 40 players from Arlington high schools were chosen to the various girls and boys all-Liberty District lacrosse teams for their performances during the spring season.

On the girls side, multiple players from the undefeated and defending Class 6 state-champion Yorktown Patriots were selected to first and second teams and honorable mention.

Making first team for the Patriots were senior attacks Helene Lydon and Mila Perez, senior midfielder Coco Rigoli, sophomore midfielder Mairin Almy and senior defenders Allyson Graves and Reese Clark.

Chosen second-team from Yorktown were senior attack Olivia Burgeson and senior goalie Victoria Carcillo.

Yorktown senior attack Lila Almy was chosen honorable mention along with junior midfielder Lilah Dalley, senior defender Emme Yoder and junior defender Zoe Davis.

Players from the Wakefield Warriors and Washington-Liberty Generals also were chosen to the girls all-district teams.

Making first team from Washington-Liberty were senior attack Meave Shoji, senior midfielder Claudia Volpe and senior defender Nicole Kim. On the second team were sophomore attack Emma Hooper and senior defender Maggie Humphrey.

Chosen second team from Wakefield was freshman attack Emily Schimmel.

Making honorable mention from Wakefield were sophomore attack Natalie Bryant; senior midfielder Anna Ford; sophomore midfielder Camille Marston; and defenders Evelin Aguilar (senior), Jaya Spangler (junior), Kayla Johnson-Bey (junior) and goalie Riley Smith (senior).

Washington-Liberty’s Taryn Hannam-Zatz was chosen as the girls Coach of the Year.

The Washington-Liberty boys had four first-teamers. They were senior attack Ryan Dodini, senior midfielder Jon Malatesta, sophomore defender Miles Whitaker and senior goalie Alex Conner, who was chosen as the defensive Player of the Year.

Yorktown sophomore attack Nate Randles and senior defender Evan Beeman made first team.

Seven players from Arlington schools were chosen second team:

  • From Wakefield was senior attack Nico Combs
  • From Washington-Liberty was junior defender Lukas Naas
  • From Yorktown were junior attack Eli Pilch, freshman midfielder Xavier Alford, junior defender P.J. Cooper, sophomore defender Alex Len and senior goalie Jordan Romero-Guitierrez
