Metallica co-hosts blood drive in Pentagon City next week

Metallica is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive in Pentagon City next week.

The legendary heavy metal band’s foundation, All Within My Hands, is collaborating on the event on Tuesday at the DoubleTree at 300 Army Navy Drive — one day before a Metallica concert in Landover, Md.

Donors will receive a free T-shirt with both Metallica and the Red Cross logos.

“This collaboration will help ensure hospital patients never have to wait for critical, lifesaving care in the weeks and months to come,” a press release says. “By rolling up a sleeve to give, the Metallica family can help trauma victims, those facing cancer, new mothers, people living with sickle cell disease and so many more.”

The Arlington event is one of 11 blood drives that Metallica and the Red Cross are co-hosting across the country through next month.
