About 1,000 homes and businesses are without power in parts of Falls Church and western Arlington County.
The outage was reported after 4 p.m. Thursday, affecting neighborhoods in the Seven Corners area — including along Route 7, Route 50 and Roosevelt Blvd.
The busy Eden Center shopping center is among the businesses within the outage area displayed on Dominion’s website.
The Arlington County Fire Department has been responding to stuck elevator calls associated with the outage, according to scanner traffic.
Dominion currently lists an estimated restoration time of 7-10 p.m. The cause is said to be “pending investigation.”
