The bathrooms at Greenbrier Park near Yorktown High School were damaged over the weekend by a pair of teen vandals.
The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday. On social media, a witness described encountering the suspects before they fled on foot.
“I walked over to investigate because of the breaking glass noise, I was genuinely worried about someone getting hurt, and I found 2 teenage boys doing this work,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “Very disappointing.”
Photos posted showed a phallic drawing and the phrases “kill them” and “the fog is coming” scrawled on the walls of the bathrooms. A broken mirror could also be seen, as well as dirt and various debris on the floor.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, 2025-08100182, 5200 block of Yorktown Boulevard. At approximately 10:51 p.m. on August 10, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct after a witness observed two juvenile male suspects exit the bathrooms at Greenbrier Park with cans of spray paint. The witness confronted the suspects and they ran from the scene. Upon arrival, officers located a broken bathroom mirror, graffiti spray painted inside the bathroom and recovered remnants of fireworks that had been ignited. The suspects are described as white males in their teens. The investigation is ongoing.
As of Tuesday morning, the bathrooms had been painted and repaired.
Also over the weekend, Arlington County police responded to a breaking and entering incident in Ballston, and a robbery in Pentagon City in which a security guard held down the suspect until police arrived.

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2025-08090196, 1100 block of N. Stuart Street. At approximately 8:19 p.m. on August 9, police were dispatched to the report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined the male and female victims discovered that the male suspect had allegedly made entry into their vacant property without permission. The victims left the scene to call police, and the suspect subsequently fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of Washington Boulevard and N. Stafford Street and took him into custody. While in custody, the suspect kicked an officer. The officer did not sustain any injuries. [The suspect], 34, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Assault on Police and Unlawful Entry. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 2025-08090179, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:15 p.m. on August 9, police were dispatched to the report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, allegedly concealed merchandise in a cart and proceeded to exit the store without payment. When confronted by Loss Prevention personnel, a struggle ensued, however, the Loss Prevention employee was able to keep the suspect in custody at the scene until police arrived. No injuries were reported. During a search incident to arrest, suspected narcotics were recovered. [The suspect], 42, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Robbery and Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.
