Clarendon Day returns this weekend with live music and local vendors

Clarendon Day is back this Saturday, with over 150 local artisans, businesses, nonprofits and restaurants participating in the annual street festival.

This year’s event kicks off at 11 a.m. in the blocks surrounding the Clarendon Metro station at 3100 Wilson Blvd. The following local bands and musicians are slated to perform live.

Planned vendors include a variety of local craftspeople, small businesses and services, from Dogma Bakery to Ballston Candle Co. and the LGBT+ Counseling Collective.

Several Arlington churches, advocacy groups, political organizations and social clubs will be on-site to share information about local involvement.

Twenty-nine D.C.-area restaurants, including Clarendon’s own Smokecraft Modern Barbecue, Colony Grill and Tiger Dumplings, will provide food and refreshments.

Large inflatables, balloon animals and various kid-friendly activities will be available, and the first 500 kids to visit the Clarendon Alliance’s vendor tent will win a free prize.

The following roads will close from 3 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday to accommodate the event, according to an alert from the Arlington County Police Department.

  • Wilson Blvd from N. Garfield Street to Washington Blvd
  • Clarendon Blvd from Washington Blvd to N. Garfield Street
  • N. Highland Street from N. Hartford Street to 11th Street S.
  • N. Hudson Street from Wilson Blvd to the alleyway behind Don Tito
  • N. Herndon Street from Wilson Blvd to the alleyway behind CVS

ACPD encourages attendees to travel via Metro or use other non-car transportation options to reduce traffic. Residents should also expect an increased police presence in the area for the duration of the event.
