Shoppers had to evacuate the Whole Foods in Clarendon this morning (Tuesday) following a fire in the kitchen.
Arlington County firefighters responded to the store at 2700 Wilson Blvd after the fire was reported around 8:20 a.m.
The incident was described as a “small fire in an oven that activated the hood system,” an ACFD spokesperson said.
Shoppers and employees watched from the parking lot as fire trucks arrived and firefighters entered the store to extinguish the flames.
Responding firefighters reported that the fire was out at approximately 8:25 a.m. No injuries to firefighters or shoppers were reported.
The Clarendon Whole Foods was previously evacuated in 2014 due to a fire on a stove that caused patches of grease to ignite.
