The incident happened early Wednesday evening in the Buckingham neighborhood, south of Ballston.
“ACPD is investigating a stabbing in the 200 block of N. Glebe Road,” the Arlington County Police Department said on social media around 6 p.m. “Two adult males have been transported to an area hospital in serious but stable condition. Expect road closures and continued police activity in the area.”
“A third adult male was pronounced deceased on scene,” ACPD said later. “At this time, there is not believed to be any outstanding individuals and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Police remain on scene investigating.”
Asked to clarify whether the man who died was stabbed, a police spokesperson told ARLnow that additional information was not currently available.
“Police remain on scene investigating and at this time there are no further details available for release besides what we’ve provided on X,” the spokesperson said via email, shortly before 8 p.m. “N. Glebe Road remains closed from N. Piedmont Street to N. Pershing Drive.”
On Thursday (Thanksgiving) afternoon, police issued a press release saying the man found dead is believed to be “the primary aggressor” and the other two men suffered life-threatening injuries but are in stable condition.
