A total of 17 players from Arlington’s three public high-school varsity football teams were chosen all-region for their performances during the 2025 season.
The two players chosen 6D North Region first-team on defense were seniors, who coincidentally wore uniform number 99. One was middle linebacker Sean Perry of the Wakefield Warriors and the other was lineman Bobby Shea of the Liberty District champion Yorktown Patriots.
Perry was his team’s leading tackler. He totaled 135 tackles, including 35 for losses and six sacks, despite missing one full game and parts of two others with injuries.
Perry “was one of the top tacklers in the state,” Wakefield coach Clarence Martin told ARLnow. “He made a lot of plays for us.”
Shea made 31 tackles, with 11 being for losses, and he had six sacks. Shea forced four fumbles, recovered one, scored a defensive touchdown and recorded a safety. He was chosen as the Liberty District’s Defensive Player of the Year.

Three Arlington players were first-team offensive selections. The choices were senior runningback Brayden Black and senior center Grant Siebert from the Washington-Liberty Generals and senior tight end Brady Owens of the Yorktown Patriots.
Black rushed for 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns and he caught 20 passes for 169 yards. Owens had 39 catches for 498 yards and three touchdowns.
Shea and Owens helped Yorktown win the district title with a 6-0 record.
Shea will play college football at Denison University and Owens at Rutgers University.
“They were a big part of what we did,” Yorktown coach Alec Hicks said.
Black and Siebert helped Washington-Liberty finish third in the Liberty District and earn a region playoff berth, as did Yorktown.
Generals’ coach Josh Shapiro talked all season about the value of Black’s running and Siebert’s blocking and leadership on the offensive line.
“When Brayden ran well, we did well as a team,” Shapiro said.
Players chosen first-team all-region are eligible for consideration to be selected to the Virginia High School League’s Class 6 all-state first or second teams, which have yet to be selected.
Five Arlington players were chosen second-team all-region on offense with seven selected to the second team on defense. Four of the five second-team offensive selections were from Yorktown: senior runningback Nate Randles, senior wide receiver Sammy Keiser, junior kick returner Jack Ezzedin and senior lineman Chris Layman.
Wakefield freshman wide receiver Xavier Winkelmann also made second-team on offense.
Yorktown had five players chosen second-team on defense. The seniors were linebacker Nicky Palma, defensive back Jamoris Watts and all-purpose player Andrew Cole. The juniors were punt returner Boston Izzo and defensive back Jack McCorry.
Wakefield senior defensive back Chris Gilpin and Washington-Liberty senior lineman Maximus De La Vega were chosen second-team on defense.
