Targeted traffic enforcement and education events are coming to Arlington this month as part of an annual safety campaign.
This winter’s Street Smart Campaign, a region-wide initiative, focuses on improving drivers’, pedestrians’ and bicyclists’ awareness and compliance with traffic laws.
“While winter weather changes the road conditions, preparation, awareness and staying alert ensures safety for all road users, no matter the time of year,” the Arlington County Police Department said in a press release.
ACPD plans to conduct high-visibility activations throughout the month-long campaign.
One activation will take place on the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street, near Pentagon City’s mall, from 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday. Another will happen from 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Wilson Blvd and N. Lynn Street in Rosslyn.
ACPD provided the following safety reminders for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.
