Suspects arrested in Buckingham stabbing, Green Valley break-ins

An Arlington man is behind bars after police say he stabbed another man Saturday night in the Buckingham neighborhood.

The stabbing happened on N. Thomas Street, shortly before 6:30 p.m. Police say the victim, who knows the suspect, suffered serious injuries.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2026-02070159, 100 block of N. Thomas Street. At approximately 6:23 p.m. on February 7, police were dispatched to the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined the adult male victim and adult male suspect, who are known to each other, were inside a residence when they became involved in a dispute. The victim attempted to leave the residence when the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a knife, causing lacerations. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, a knife was recovered. [The suspect], 57, of Arlington, VA., was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding.

On Thursday, meanwhile, police say a Maryland man tried to break into a car and a home, before urinating in public, fleeing the scene, and breaking into a business — all in the Green Valley neighborhood.

The man is now facing several charges. From an earlier ACPD crime report:

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY/BURGLARY, 2026-02050102/2025-02050118, 2100 block of Shirlington Road/2200 block of Shirlington Road. At approximately 11:31 a.m. on February 5, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in the 2100 block of Shirlington Road. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly attempted to enter Victim One’s parked, unoccupied vehicle outside of a residence before attempting to force entry into Victim Two’s neighboring occupied residence. The suspect then urinated in public and fled the scene. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. At 12:17 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Shirlington Road for the report of a burglary in progress. It was determined the same male suspect forced entry into a business where Victim Three confronted him. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Officers subsequently located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of S. Walter Reed Drive and S. Four Mile Run Drive and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, a check belonging to Victim Three was recovered. [The suspect], 36, of Riverdale, MD was arrested and charged with Burglary, Attempted Burglary, Attempted Vehicle Tampering, Larceny of a Check and Urinating in Public. He was held without bond.
