NOW: Power outages affecting parts of Arlington

More than 1,600 homes and businesses are without power in parts of Arlington as of 6 p.m. Friday.

The power outages come amid strong winds and scattered reports of downed trees and branches across the county.

The largest current outage includes portions of the Madison Manor, Westover and High View Park neighborhoods, as well as Virginia Hospital Center. Power restoration is projected between 7 p.m. and midnight, according to Dominion Energy’s website.

In all, Dominion is reporting nearly 15,000 customers in the dark throughout Northern Virginia. A Wind Advisory is in effect through 7 p.m.
