Investigation underway after man found dead in car in Buckingham

Arlington County police are investigating a man’s death in the Buckingham neighborhood, but so far there’s no indication of foul play.

Police and medics were dispatched to a parking lot on the 4200 block of 2nd Road N., near the intersection with N. Thomas Street, around 7:45 a.m. today (Friday) for a report of a man in his 30s believed to be sleeping in a green Cadillac.

After arriving on scene, first responders soon determined that the man was deceased.

“An unresponsive adult male was located inside a parked vehicle and pronounced deceased on scene,” ACPD spokeswoman Ashley Savage tells ARLnow. “The Arlington County Police Department is conducting a death investigation and the Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. Based on the preliminary investigation, the death does not appear suspicious and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community related to this incident.”
