ACPD investigating trio of robberies at Arlington businesses

Arlington County police are looking for suspects in three business robberies reported across the county on Tuesday.

In each incident, suspects allegedly took merchandise from a retail store and either used force or made threats against employees, according to an Arlington County Police Department crime report.

The first happened around 9:30 a.m. on the 4600 block of King Street, near the edge of the Fairlington neighborhood and the Alexandria border. Two juvenile suspects allegedly walked out of a business with stolen merchandise and kicked an employee when confronted.

ROBBERY, 2026-05120076, 4600 block of King Street. At approximately 9:26 a.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that two juvenile male suspects entered the business. Suspect One collected merchandise and both suspects exited the store without payment. When an employee confronted Suspect One outside of the business, the suspect kicked the employee, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect threw the merchandise at the employee, and both suspects fled the scene on foot. The employee sustained minor injuries and declined medics at the scene. Suspect One is described as a medium-build, Hispanic male in his teens, with medium length dark hair, wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and a dark backpack. Suspect Two is described as a skinny, Hispanic male in his teens, with short black hair wearing a black t-shirt, gray pants and a black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.

Just after noon, police were called to Pentagon City for what was initially reported as a larceny. They later determined the case was a robbery: a man had concealed merchandise in his jacket, approached an employee at the counter and made threatening statements before fleeing on foot, police said.

ROBBERY, 2026-05120113, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:06 p.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business and began to conceal merchandise in his jacket. The suspect then approached the counter where an employee was standing. The suspect made threatening statements before fleeing the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6′ tall, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and carrying a green bag. The investigation is ongoing.

Just before midnight, a similar incident played out in Clarendon, on the 3100 block of Wilson Blvd. A man allegedly concealed merchandise in a bag and exited a store without paying. When an employee locked the door behind him, the suspect “made threatening statements and implied a weapon” before fleeing on foot, according to police.

A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6’3″ tall, wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
