BREAKING: Firefighters battling blaze in condo tower near Ballston

A large fire department response is on scene at a condo tower near Ballston due to a blaze on the sixth floor.

The fire was reported around 12:15 p.m. at the Hyde Park condo building at 4141 Henderson Road in the Buckingham neighborhood.

Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from a unit on the sixth floor, according to initial reports. As of 12:30 p.m. the fire was reported to be under control but smoke has filled part of the building.

Henderson Road is totally blocked at N. Glebe Road due to the emergency activity. One lane of southbound Glebe is also blocked.

So far, no injuries have been reported.
