NOW: Big backups on I-395 due to six-vehicle crash

A six-vehicle collision on southbound I-395 is snarling traffic during the morning commute.

Police were dispatched to a six-vehicle accident prior to the entrance ramp to Washington Blvd, initial reports suggest. The first call came in just after 7 a.m.

Police initially blocked off the left two lanes. One person reported wrist pain and burns from their airbag, according to scanner chatter.

Around 7:15 a.m., units were also dispatched to an overturned vehicle at GW Parkway and N. Glebe Road. Injuries were reported.
