Big Crash Along GW Parkway — “DC Fireboats & @DCPoliceDept Harbor units assisted our partners from @ArlingtonVaFD and @usparkpolicepio with a vehicle accident on the GW Pkwy S/B near Arlington Blvd with 2 cars partially into Boundary Channel. I-395 Shirlington Detour — “Drivers headed to Shirlington will have to take a detour through YAlexandria… offering Arlingtonians a glimpse at life once Alexandria finally annexes Shirlington. The northbound ramp off I-395 to Shirlington Circle will be closed overnight Monday night (Sept. 16) and Tuesday night (Sept. 17) into the following mornings.” [ALXnow, VDOT]

Yorktown, W-L Still Undefeated — “The Yorktown Patriots’ 38-16 home victory over the Wakefield Warriors in an all-Arlington Liberty District clash Sept. 13 sets up two big possibilities for the high-school football team in its next game. If undefeated Yorktown (3-0, 1-0) wins that road Sept. 20 contest against the also 3-0 Washington-Liberty Generals in another district and all-county showdown, the victory will be the 300th in the 45-year head football coaching career of longtime Patriots coach Bruce Hanson.” [Gazette Leader]

It’s Monday — Expect partly sunny skies and a high of 77 accompanied by an east wind at around 9 mph. There’s a 50% chance of showers overnight, with otherwise cloudy conditions and a low of 66. [NWS]
