In 2023, Arlington Thrive served nearly 2,000 low-income families, lightening their burdens through our emergency funding, childcare, and case management programs.
Arlington Thrive is breaking down barriers to affordable childcare through our Early Childhood Program, which provides critical support to families in need. This initiative, which was launched in FY23, addresses the unique challenges that prevent parents from securing reliable, affordable childcare — a key factor in achieving stability and economic mobility.
The obstacles to securing affordable childcare are both varied and overwhelming. For many families, finding a center that accepts subsidies is a daunting task. Others may struggle to balance work and childcare, especially in female-headed households where resources are stretched thin.
These barriers not only threaten parents’ ability to maintain steady employment but also undermine their efforts to provide a stable, nurturing environment for their children.
