An Arlington woman has died after a double stabbing in Pentagon City the night of Dec. 14.
Iman Gaye, 26, died at the hospital early this morning, according to Arlington County police. A young child who was also stabbed and seriously injured that night, near an entrance to the Target store, was released from the hospital on Dec. 23, according to ACPD.
Leonardo Reyes, 23, has now been charged with second degree murder in connection to the horrific crime, in addition to aggravated malicious wounding. He’s being held without bond at the Arlington County jail, pending trial.
Police described the stabbing as “domestic-related.” The toddler who was wounded was said to be the child of the suspect and the deceased victim. Another child who was with the couple at the time was uninjured.
On social media, accounts under the name of Iman Gaye listed her as a hostess at Rosslyn restaurant Barley Mac and showed photos of her, two young children, and man that appears to be the suspect.
Reyes pleaded guilty in 2021 to the attempted robbery of a CVS in Crystal City earlier that year and was on probation at the time of the stabbing, ARLnow previously reported.

The Arlington County Police Department has obtained an additional charge of Murder – 2nd Degree for Leonardo Reyes, 23, of Arlington, VA after the adult female victim succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital early this morning. Reyes remains held in the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond.
The deceased has been identified as Iman Gaye, 26, of Arlington, VA.
The toddler injured in this incident was treated and subsequently released from the hospital on December 23, 2024.
