One arrested, one sought after purse theft and beating

Police are looking for a suspect involved in a robbery and assault near Arlington’s western border.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on the 6100 block of Wilson Blvd, near Upton Hill Regional Park. Two suspects allegedly beat and stole the purse of a woman one of them knew, before fleeing on foot.

A 20-year-old female suspect that the victim knew was arrested on warrants for robbery and malicious wounding at Arlington County police headquarters, police said, while a male suspect is still at large.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB, 2025-04250238, 6100 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 10:34 p.m. on April 25, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was outside when she was approached from behind by the female suspect, who is known to her, and an unknown male suspect. The suspects allegedly then struck the victim, causing her to fall to the ground and physically assaulted her before stealing her purse and fleeing the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by medics on scene. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. During the course of the investigation, warrants were obtained for the female suspect and the following day, she self-reported to the police station and was taken into custody. [The female suspect], 20, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Robbery. She was held without bond. The male suspect was not located and is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’6”-5’9”, 150-170 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.
