This year’s “Miss Arlington” took home the title of Miss Virginia 2025 at a ceremony on Saturday.
Madison Whitbeck received the crown and scholarships totaling $22,500. The 20-year-old sophomore at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. plans to use her title to champion arts education and travel around Virginia as a performer and motivational speaker.
“I had a village behind me coming to Miss Virginia this year between my family, my local board of directors and every mentor and friend that has supported me along this journey,” she told the TV station WSLS 10. “I can’t wait to represent you all well at Miss America.”
Whitbeck, who is from Leesburg in Loudoun County, is pursuing a degree in Commercial Music with dual emphases on Performance and Music Business, according to a fact sheet. She also works as a vocal coach and producer and as a sales associate at Pure Barre.
Whitbeck has performed at over 30 shows and was featured on the “Christmas at Belmont” show broadcast on Amazon Prime. For her talent performance, she sang “Let Me Be Your Star” from the musical “Smash.”
As Miss Virginia, Whitbeck plans to undertake the community service initiative “Arts for All: Advocating for Accessible and Affordable Arts Education,” which focuses on increasing funding and awareness for arts education in Virginia schools.
“I want every child to find their confidence and voice through artistic expression, no matter their background,” she said in a press release.
Whitbeck will represent Virginia in September at the Miss America competition in Orlando, Fla.
