A 25-year-old Arlington woman has been arrested and charged with felony hit and run in connection with an early-morning crash on Route 50 that left a pedestrian critically injured.
Valeria Galdo Camacho turned herself in to police at the Magistrate’s Office at approximately 11 a.m. today (Sunday), the Arlington County Police Department said in a press release.
Police and fire personnel were dispatched to N. Irving Street at Route 50 (Arlington Blvd) around 12:40 a.m. for the report of a pedestrian-involved crash, according to the release. A man said to be in his 30s was found in the roadway suffering critical injuries. Medics treated him on scene before rushing him to a local trauma center, where police say he remains in critical but stable condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates Galdo Camacho was driving eastbound on Arlington Blvd when she struck the pedestrian, police said, before fleeing in her vehicle.
Police are asking for tips from anyone with information that can help what the department says is “an active criminal investigation.”

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is announcing the arrest of the driver in a critical hit-and-run crash that occurred in the early morning hours of March 1, 2026 on Arlington Boulevard. Valeria Galdo Camacho, 25, of Arlington, VA is charged with Felony Hit and Run.
At approximately 12:39 a.m. on March 1, police and fire personnel were dispatched to N. Irving Street at Arlington Boulevard for the report of a pedestrian-involved crash. Upon arrival, the pedestrian, an adult male, was located in the roadway suffering critical injuries. Medics treated him on scene before transporting him to an area hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect was driving eastbound on Arlington Boulevard when she struck the pedestrian. Following the crash, the suspect fled the scene in her vehicle. At approximately 11:00 a.m., the suspect turned herself into police at the Magistrate’s Office.
