More flyovers planned this weekend after a dozen helicopters flew over Arlington today

Expect more low-flying military aircraft over the next few days.

A number of flyovers are planned through Sunday, June 14, as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump celebrates his 80th birthday with a UFC cage match on the White House grounds.

“The U.S. Military will conduct multiple Aircraft Flyovers in the NCR over The White House and National Mall between June 11 and June 14,” the District of Columbia’s alert system said today. “Expect low flying [aircraft and] loud noises.”

Axios reported that flight delays are expected at Reagan National Airport during flyovers of Apache attack helicopters on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend festivities were preceded by an exceptionally loud flyover today (Thursday) involving about a dozen military helicopters that flew down the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor before crossing the Potomac and going over the National Mall.
