A sixth floor blaze in a condo tower near Ballston drew a large fire department response early Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 12:15 p.m. at the Hyde Park condo building at 4141 Henderson Road in the Buckingham neighborhood.
Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from a unit on the sixth floor, according to initial reports. As of 12:30 p.m. the fire was reported to be under control but smoke had filled part of the building.
Henderson Road was totally blocked at N. Glebe Road, as of 1 p.m., due to the emergency activity. One lane of southbound Glebe was also blocked by police and fire vehicles.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
