The victim of a fatal crash on S. Glebe Road over the weekend has been identified as a 48-year-old Arlington resident.
The Arlington County Police Department has identified Katherine Krueger as the pedestrian fatally struck on Sunday night at S. Glebe Road and 14th Street S.
According to police, Krueger was in the crosswalk when a driver heading south on Glebe Road crashed into her around 8:50 p.m. The driver remained at the scene, police said in a press release.
Krueger sustained critical injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
So far, no charges have been announced against the driver.
The crash took place on a stormy evening, shortly after another fatal collision took place at the intersection of Carlin Springs Road and Columbia Pike, just over the Arlington border in Fairfax County. In that incident, a man was struck by a Metrobus turning right onto Carlin Springs Road from Columbia Pike around 8:30 p.m.
