— The Langston Boulevard Alliance will host a Community Art Fundraiser on Thursday, September 24, at 6:30 p.m. at 4500 Langston Blvd, Arlington, VA, to raise funds toward adding three oversize "Community Collage" prints to the Arlington Art Collection. The digital collages honor Arlington's three
historically Black neighborhoods, Green Valley, Johnson's Hill, and Hall's Hill, and were created by artist Zane Killgo.
The evening will feature an opening reception where guests can view the collages up close, learn about the neighborhoods they depict, and contribute toward the campaign to bring the pieces into the county's permanent art collection. A panel of residents of these neighborhoods will provide community perspective about the collages and their feedback.
Donations can be made via QR code, check, or credit card, and are 100 percent tax deductible. "These collages aren't just art, they're a way of making sure the histories of Green Valley, Johnson's Hill, and Hall's Hill are visible in Arlington's public collection for generations to come," organizers said.
