Arlington Community Foundation is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 32nd Annual Spirit of Community Awards, recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the Arlington community. This year marks an exciting new chapter in the event’s long-standing tradition with the introduction of two new honors: the Spirit of Leadership Award and the Spirit on the Rise Award. Nominations for all three awards are open now through Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

For over three decades, the Spirit of Community Awards & Luncheon has brought together hundreds of business, civic, nonprofit, and philanthropic leaders—as well as Arlingtonians from all walks of life—to celebrate those who make Arlington a stronger, more inclusive place to call home.


Monday June 23 is the day! Our summer camps and summer classes begin. At camp, ages 5-15, your kids will love the creative themes as we paint, draw, sculpt, throw on the wheel, make jewelry, “green” art and much more. We also offer summer classes for 4th grade through adult, including painting, sewing, printmaking, embroidery, and lots of ceramics.

Art House 7 is located on Lee Highway near the Lee Harrison Shopping Center. We have a 2-story studio, and plenty of free parking.

Our intro classes include all the gear you need, instruction from the ground up, and the experienced teaching and local knowledge to create a successful experience for every student.


We are excited to announce the opening of The Salon! The Salon is a modern gathering place for thoughtful, curious young adults- including those who are neurodiverse or who sometimes navigate experiences like anxiety or low mood. We host small, welcoming get-togethers in suburban Washington D.C. where it’s easy to meet others, try fun activities, and just be yourself – no pressure, no awkwardness. It’s a gentle way to build community, confidence, and joy, one meaningful hang-out at a time.

Here are just a few of the exciting gatherings that will take place: Parlor Games & Charcuterie, Trivia Night, Build + Bond: Lego night for grown-ups, and Paint Cafe.
