A man who arrived in Arlington with three goats remains in the county despite having lost his livestock.
The traveler known as Jacob Holiday has encamped in a median on the western side of Theodore Roosevelt Bridge for the past several days, placing himself closer than ever to his final destination in D.C. A tipster and ARLnow staff have been unable to observe any goats with him since they were seized by animal control.

The Arlington County Fair, which returns for its 50th installment later this week, began life in 1977 as a grassroots community effort.
“Our fair is unique — it will reflect Arlington’s pluralistic nature,” fair chair O. Ware Page, Jr. told The Washington Post as the inaugural fair prepared to draw a hoped-for 100,000 visitors to Thomas Jefferson Community Center.
A new Thai restaurant specializing in basil fried rice and other street food-inspired dishes has been getting settled on Langston Blvd.
Kaphrao Express opened at 5123 Langston Blvd in January, serving authentic Thai recipes like pad thai with tamarind sauce and basil dishes served with rice and proteins like stir fried chicken and crab meat. Its owner, Yook Limrat, already has expansion on his mind.
Two retail bays are hitting the market in Lyon Park after their previous owner apparently fell on hard times.
The former home of El Fuego Peruvian Kitchen and Nova Armory is up for a virtual real estate auction at 2300 N. Pershing Drive.

In one of the great constants of nature, a bright pink truck with a feline mascot is coming back to Pentagon City.
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is returning to Westpost at National Landing this Saturday as part of its tour of the United States, hauling its usual load of sweet treats and bubble-gum pink goodies.
A new mural with local symbols and bright colors is complete and ready for Instagram in Rosslyn.
Beneath an elevated walkway at 1101 Wilson Blvd, the 2,631-square-foot mural has been up since May and underwent final touch-ups two weeks ago, its designers told ARLnow.

Shopping for back-to-school supplies and other items will be cheaper in Arlington during a statewide sales tax holiday this weekend.
The three-day holiday, which lasts from Friday to Sunday, temporarily lifts the sales tax on clothing, footwear and school supplies, as well as emergency preparedness products and some appliances.
