Crime Report: ‘Maybe It Was Colonel Mustard’ Edition

From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

MALICIOUS WOUNDING 10/12/10, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. On October 12 at 3:30 am, a known suspect hit the male victim in the face with a metal candlestick.

The victim’s injury was not life-threatening, we’re told. Mr. Boddy was unavailable for comment.

The past week also saw an attempted carjacking and a case of police impersonation on Columbia Pike.

ATTEMPTED CARJACKING-ARREST 10/11/10, 4800 block of Columbia Pike. On October 11 at 12:20 am, two men approached a man sitting in his vehicle. They stated that they wanted his truck and assaulted the victim before fleeing the area. Police located the suspects. Nelson Castaneda, 18, and Nelson Garcia Recinos, 20, both of Hyattsville, MD, were charged with Attempted Carjacking. They were held without bond.

POLICE IMPERSONATION-ARREST 10/11/10, 3100 block of Columbia Pike. On October 11 at 7:40 am, a man wearing a hat that read “Police” stopped a vehicle in the middle of the roadway for an alleged traffic infraction. Mario Tellez, 50, of Falls Church, was charged with Impersonating a Police Officer. He was released on a summons.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 10/10/10, Unit blocks of S. Manchester and South Montana Streets. On October 10 between 1 am and 11 am, an unknown subject broke the side view mirrors on at least eight vehicles in the area. There are no known suspects.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING 10/10/10, 3500 block of S. 17th Street. On October 10 at 5 am, a man opened the apartment door to speak with friends, and an unknown subject hit him with an unknown object. The suspect was a 6′ tall white Hispanic male.

ROBBERY 10/06/10, 1100 block of S Hayes Street. On October 6 at 10:30 pm, an unknown male asked another man for a cigarette. The victim pulled out his cigarettes and cell phone and the suspect grabbed his cell phone and fled. The suspect is described as an African American in his 20’s, 5’8″ with a thin build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 10/08/10, 3500 block of S. 16th Street. On October 8 at 6 pm, a man assaulted his ex-girlfriend. He was located by police and found to be “wanted” out of another jurisdiction on three charges. Michael Knight, 49, of Arlington, was charged with Obstruction and Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 10/10/10, 6100 block of Wilson Boulevard. On October 9 at 11:45 pm, a man was assaulted by his landlord and another man. Darlen Bonilla Galeas, 27, and Frankil Chinchilla Galeas, 27, both of Arlington, were charged with Assault and Battery. Chinchilla Galeas was released on his own recognizance. Bonilla Galeas was held until sober.

PEEPING TOM-ARREST 10/09/10, 1800 block of N. Rhodes Street. On October 9 at 3 am, a man was seen peeping into an apartment window. Zaqueo Gonzalez, 36, of Arlington, was charged with Peeping into an Occupied Dwelling. He was held on a $1,000 bond.

LARCENY FROM A PERSON 10/07/10, 2800 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On October 7 at 9:15 pm, a man was sitting at a bookstore café when an unknown subject stole his laptop that was on the floor beside the table. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 20’s, 6’2″ with a slim build. He was wearing a purple sweatshirt, jeans, and a dark colored baseball cap.

BURGLARY 10/09/10, 4400 block of S. 1st Road. On October 8 between 8:45 am and 1:30 pm, an unknown subject entered a residence and stole jewelry. There are no known suspects.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 10/12/10, 4100 block of Four Mile Run Drive. Between 7 pm on October 11, and 7 am on October 12, an unknown subject forcibly entered a business and stole currency. There are no known suspects.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY 10/10/10, 800 block of N. Randolph Street. On October 10 at 9:45 pm, two unknown men opened an apartment door. They fled without entering. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 10/06/10, the Bluemont Neighborhood. Between 11:30 pm on October 5, and 7:30 am on October 6, an unknown subject entered at least four unlocked cars in the same neighborhood. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.
