Two of three northbound lanes are closed on the Key Bridge due to a presidential speech in Georgetown.
The lane closures are causing traffic to back up in Rosslyn, before the bridge.
President Obama is currently speaking in Goergetown Waterfront Park, near the Key Bridge. The speech started around 11:30 a.m.

If only this had been announced in advance…

Thanks for the warning yesterday!
I would imagine there is some degree of security involved so as not to let every wacko have the time to appear and do something stupid, hence the lack of advanced notice.
I think his coment was sarcastic since he links to an article from yesterday indicating Obama would be there this morning even if it didn’t give a specific time.
Where’s Steve? the poor guy is probably still getting over his disgust at dealing with disruptions from the President dining/fundraising at Liberty Tavern. Now he has to deal with this Key bridge mess? What’s next, loud noises?
Automatic transmissions and fresh air are the two things steve despises the most.
Goergetown?
Another pointless speech from an empty suit.
yes it was Patrick – please promise you won’t do it again
Zing!
