Arlington Pet of the Week: Mia

Dogma Bakery

Our latest Arlington Pet of the Week is Mia, a beagle-chihuahua mix who was adopted earlier this year.

Mia has two protective big brothers and is a big fan of her doggie daycare center. Here’s what owner Taryn had to say about her:

Mia is a 9 1/2 month old Beagle Chihuahua that we adopted from Lost Dog Rescue in January. We met her at an adoption event and it was like she picked us. When picked her up she immediately fell asleep in our arms and any time we tried to set her back down into the pen with her litter mates she cuddled up even more into us, determined to never leave our side again. Needless to say she won.

She now has two big brothers, Joey and Leo whom absolutely adore her (she has them wrapped around her little paw). Leo is about 3 years old and has taken to being her protector and partner in crime and Joey who is the old man (11 year old lab/shepherd) lets her get away with so much more than really anyone else in the house. She has discovered a love for playing fetch and loves licking absolutely everything (hundreds and hundreds of times…)

She has lots of friends both human and furry. She can barely contain her excitement when heading to doggie daycare at Woofs in the morning (she’s learned my daily routine and will start whining with excitement when we get close to leaving the house) and has been known to make appearances as some of our favorite places in Shirlington for brunch or lunch with friends.

The Arlington Pet of the Week is sponsored by Dogma Bakery, which has locations at The Village at Shirlington (2772 S. Arlington Mill Drive) and the Lee Harrison Shopping Center (2445 N. Harrison Street).

Want your pet to be considered for the Arlington Pet of the Week? Email [email protected] with a 2-3 paragraph bio and at least 3-4 horizontally-oriented photos of your pet. Each week’s winner receives a $25 Dogma gift card.
