It was the Easter experience of a lifetime.

The 250 Arlington elementary school students who were invited to attend Monday’s White House Easter Egg Roll were treated to a reading by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, a performance by teen pop sensation Justin Bieber, and appearances by a host of other showbiz stars and athletes. And that’s not to mention the thrill of hobnobbing with President Obama and the First Family.

  • Disappointed parent

Although it was nice to be given a ticket from the school system via a lottery, some of the Arlington parent chaperons chosen did not want to wait in any of the short lines at the Easter Egg roll once they arrived. So my son was able to walk around the White House lawn, but was unable to actually participate in an egg roll due to a really bad decision on a chaperon’s part. Hard to explain to my disappointed son that the parent chaperon was too important to be bothered with standing in a short line for the primary reason the event is held.
