A car somehow ended up on its roof in a parking lot near Columbia Pike this morning.

The car flipped over in the parking lot of the BB&T Bank at 1100 Walter Reed Drive around 11:30 a.m. It’s not clear how the accident happened, but no other vehicles in the parking lot appeared to have any accident-related damage.

A woman was evaluated by paramedics at the scene. She was not transported to the hospital. The woman appeared to be shaken up but otherwise uninjured.

That driver is probably upside down with the car loan.

Someone should teller to slow down.

      • Jman777

Maybe she thought her car was a house and tried to flip it…

        • Doh!

Maybe someone slipped her a roofie.

      • Tabby

Thank goodness there were no children in the way! Won’t someone please think of the children!

So not only do South Arlingtonians commit crimes, they can’t drive, too.

    Was that the getaway car?

  • ArlForester

This is why they don’t let women drive in Saudi Arabia.

    That’s Hella-sweet!

I keep looking at those pictures expecting the car to burst into flames at any moment.

    • CW

That’s only in Grand Theft Auto…

  • Unrelated Question

Who is the person that the bank lets use one of the drivethru lanes as a car wash? He looks homeless to me but I’ve seen him there washing some very nice cars on random Saturdays. The people at the bank seem to pay him no mind.

“The woman appeared to be shaken up but”……
    not stirred ???

    • Thomas

      I’d be flipping out.

  • YTK

I bet she took the corner way too fast, tyre hit the kerb and launched the car — and kabooom — she upends.

    • CW

Or maybe she was trying to avoid you driving in the left lane?

  • meh..

I need video footage to see how this was even possible. As low and wide as a car like that is, HOW does it flip over????

    • How does it get enough speed right there to even have enough momentum to flip?

  • Joe Hoya

Maybe the car is right-side up, and it’s the rest of us who have flipped.

  • Erick

    The beige plague strikes again….boring cars=bad drivers…

  • Tre

I’m guessing her hydraulic system malfunctioned

  • Bluemontsince1961

Hmmmmm. I don’t know about BB&T…..getting robbed all the time, cars at BB&T flip over…….maybe Wells Fargo/Wachovia or Sun Trust put a hex on BB&T.

  • Ali

Between the recent rash of robberies and the flipped over cars, I’m never going near a BB&T.

  • RussianChick

OMG!!! Was the Arlington EOC activated?
Are there maps posted of the area and road closures??

  • Blueloom

Definitely a diversion while the bank was being robbed.

  • CW

She should borrow an “If you can read this, flip me back over” sticker from one of the Wrangler-driving poser tools around here who have probably never taken their jeeps off-roading.

  • ES

There was also a car flipped over at the corner of Arlington Blvd (50) and Annandale Road this morning in Falls Church around 9am. Bizarre that both happened this morning.

    • PW

      David Blaine must be involved.

  • SaveDaveMcKenna

Is Clint Eastwood still filming that movie in town?

  • FunnyMunny

Maybe she swerved to avoid a member of the Arlington Spandex Bike Army.

    • Black Flag

      You can’t miss them!

  • Novanglus

That is not your father’s oldsmobile.

  • Hmmm, a car damaged in a BB&T parking lot.

I blame Advanced Towing. They HAVE to be involved, it’s the only explanation.

  • brian

maybe if she wasn’t wearing a head covering she could see where she was going?
