Over the weekend, 300 lucky Arlington elementary school students got a chance to trick-or-treat at an address that most kids could only dream of visiting some day: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Students from Abingdon, Arlington Science Focus, Campbell, Barrett, Barcroft and Key elementary schools went trick-or-treating at the White House on Saturday night. Students — including the two Key Elementary students pictured — were handed Halloween treats from none other than the President and Mrs. Obama themselves.

Sunday morning one of the children who “tricked and treated” at the White House was heard telling a friend about the previous evening’s event: “There was this fellow handing out treats who looked like President Obama.”

Wow, he (the child) obviously did not read his briefing memo!

      Aw, that’s cute.

  • mmm candy!

any word on what candy the potus was handing out? i cry wasteful government spending if it was the full sized ones.

A yahoo! article today said that the First Lady stuck to the healthy route, going with granola or something, but is that a Twinkie I spy in the President’s basket?

The box on the left with the Presidential seal = M&Ms

I have some from the Bush years when I went to some event with a WH employee.
