Tonight’s free concert at Lubber Run Amphitheater will be cancelled due to the heat advisory, which has been extended until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Potomac Harmony Chorus, and all-female a capella group, was scheduled to perform.

The decision to cancel was made in consultation with the group, both for their health and safety, and for that of the audience.

As of now, Friday’s performance by The U.S. Army Blues is still on for 8:00 p.m.

Everyone – the concert at Donaldson Run Amphitheater is still on. Toad the Wet Sprocket goes on at 1900 sharp.

What a shame. I heard Sam’s Corner was providing the catering.

Next year let’s hold these concerts at a sprayground.

    water? gatorade? sun shade?

It’s gotta be at least 10 degrees cooler under all those trees. Is the concern that the audience will be made up of elderly folks who should stay inside for the time being?

    • well…

by “all-female a capella group” they actually mean, older female barbershop chorus… so yes… it’s likely their audience is old ladies who should stay out of the heat. In fact, it’s true that the PERFORMERS are old ladies who should stay out of the heat.

Will any area clown performances be cancelled? I bet it’s hard for them to keep their makeup from running in this heat.

(proud of you nom – didn’t think you’d have the willpower to resist after your ban)

Thanks, I avoided a relapse. Did you hear the latest Nationals quote from Davey Johnson regarding the coach of the Tampa Bay Rays? “I don’t know him that well, but I thought he was a weird wuss anyways.” I think this could become popular in the US Congress.
