Crime Report: Robbery Outside Ballston Common Mall

It was a relatively quiet seven days in Arlington, at least according to this week’s Arlington County crime report.

In one notable incident, two men reportedly assaulted a man near Ballston Common Mall early Saturday morning, stealing his prescription medication, cash and a cell phone.

ROBBERY, 140920013, 600 block of N. Randolph Street. At 2:26 am on September 20, two subjects assaulted a 29 year-old male victim and stole his prescription medication, cash and cell phone. Suspect one is described as a black male in his twenties, approximately 6’5″ tall and 220 lbs. He was wearing dark clothing and a black baseball hat. Suspect two is described as a black male in his twenties, approximately 5’9″ tall and 160 lbs. He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans at the time of the incident.

BURGLARY, 140919033, 2900 block of S. 13th Road. Between 7 am and 2:15 pm on September 19, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole a laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 140922051, 1700 block of N. Inglewood Street. Between 1:15 and 4:30 pm on September 22, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole jewelry and cash. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 140922056, 2600 block of S. 11th Street. Between 8:30 am and 5:45 pm on September 22, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a residence. It is unknown if any items were stolen. There is no suspect(s) description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 140923013, 2000 block of S. 6th Street. Between 11 pm on September 22 and 7:30 am on September 23, an unknown subject(s) broke into at least seven vehicles and stole the driver’s side air bag. There is no suspect(s) description.

The STEAM Workforce Development Teacher Fellowship provides Arlington Public Schools (APS) high school, middle school, and elementary school teachers with opportunities to learn about workplace needs in STEAM-related fields and for them to use the experience to enhance student learning to match workplace expectations in a selected industry. STEAM Fellows participate in a three-week summer fellowship, receiving a $4,000 stipend upon completion.
