Last week, a gift shop in Ballston was robbed twice in as many days by the same guy.
A man stole $450 at knifepoint on Wednesday, Dec. 3, then came back the next day and stole $400 at gunpoint, according to police.

ARMED ROBBERY, 141203034, 900 block of N Stafford St, On 12/3/14 at 1501 hours, an unknown male entered the store and demanded money from the victim at knife point. The suspect was given $450.00 from the cash register then fled on foot towards the Ballston Metro. The victim confirmed this was the same suspect who robbed this store several weeks ago. The suspect is described as as black male, 5’08”-5’10”, medium build, 170 lbs, wearing a black coat with leather sleeves, black pants, a black beanie, a tan hoodie pulled halfway over the beanie, and black shoes with white soles. The knife is described as a large kitchen knife, 8-10″ in length with a black handle and silver blade. The suspect was seen entering the Metro platform through the handicap gate without paying and jumping on a train just prior to police arrival.
ARMED ROBBERY,141204049, 900 block of N Stafford St, On 12/4/14 at 2020 hours, an unknown male entered and robbed the gift shop at gunpoint. After the clerk gave the subject $400.00, the subject fled on foot towards the Ballston Metro. The subject is described as a black male, 5’08”-5’10”, medium build, a tan hoodie underneath a black leather coat, blue jeans, black beanie, and black shoes with white soles. The gun was held in the subject’s right hand. It is believed this is the same subject that robbed the store yesterday at knife point.

SEXUAL ASSSAULT, 141203030, Unit block of S Carlin Springs Rd., On 12/2/14 at 0200 hours, a female victim told police that the suspect insisted the victim “kiss” him and blocked her passage. Becoming increasingly concerned, the victim attempted to kiss the suspect on the cheek to placate him when the suspect grabbed the victim’s head and forcing a mouth-to-mouth kiss. As the victim was leaving, she was chased by the suspect who grabbed her by the arms before she could enter her vehicle. The suspect then forced one of her hands onto his crotch. The victim was able to break free and drive away.
BURGLARY, 141203039, 1900 block of S Lowell St, Sometime between 0700 and 1630 hours on 12/4/14, the victim returned home from work to discover that her home had been entered by subject(s), unknown to her, through a swing-out basement window and stole approximately 50 pairs of earrings and costume jewelry. There is no suspect information at this time.
BURGLARY141205016, 3800 block of Fairfax Dr, Sometime between 16221 hours on 12/4/14 and 0836 hours on 12/5/14, unknown subjects entered the office and stole 4 laptops. Employees told police they ensured the doors they left through the prior evening was locked. There is no suspect information at this time.
BURGLARY141205033, 800 block of 15th St S., On 12/5/14 between 1230 and 1430 hours, an unknown subject entered the apartment and stole a backpack, electronic items, and cash. One of the victims, who was home, told police he was asleep and did not hear anything. There is no suspect information at this time.
ROBBERY141205062, 5100 block of Wilson Blvd, On 12/5/14 between 2036 and 2039 hours, an unknown subject entered the store and left with $500 worth of meat without paying. When an employee attempted to stop the subject outside the store, the subject punched him in the arm, yelled at him, the fled the scene west on Wilson Blvd. The subject is described as a clean shaven black male, in his 40’s, 5’09”, 220 lbs, wearing a black knit cap, black leather jacket, grey sweatshirt, black jeans, and white/black sneakers. The store employee was not injured.
ARMED ROBBERY141205067, 2700 block of Washington Blvd, On 12/5/14 at 2140 hours an unknown subject entered the gas station and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint and punched him in the face several times. The subject grabbed the money provided by the clerk along with a few packs of Newport cigarettes and fled the scene on foot. The subject is described as a unknown race male, 5’06”-5’07” wearing a light colored jacket, black mask and gloves, a light colored baseball hat.
SEXUAL ASSAULT, 141206004, 1200 block of Ft Myer Dr, Sometime between 2230 hours on 12/4/14 and 0400 hours on 12/5/14, a female victim told police that she believed she had been raped. The victim stated she visited a friend for a few drinks and believes that she blacked out after moving to an upstairs room. After she awoke, she found evidence of sexual activity and did not recall having given consent. The victim, who does not wish to prosecute, was examined at the hospital and was admitted for an unrelated issue.
ROBBERY141206044, 4100 block of Wilson Blvd, On 12/6/14 between 1208 and 1213 hours, a lone unknown subject entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding cash and threatening to shoot if the the teller alerted anyone. The teller passed the money to the subject who fled on foot exiting the Wilson Blvd side of the bank. The subject is described as a clean shaven black male, mid 20’s to 30’s, approximately 5’08”, wearing a white knit hat, puffy down jacket with a sweatshirt underneath, black and white sneakers, and red and white headphones around his neck.
ASSAULT ON POLICE/PROBATION VIOLATION/OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE/TRESPASS/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY,141208001/002, 5000 block of Columbia Pk, On 12/7/14 at 2335 hours, an intoxicated and disorderly male subject who refused to leave the business struck an officer during an initial encounter and resisted arrest. The subject also damaged the merchandise he was holding during his assault on the officer. Another officer arrived on scene and assisted in making the arrest. The subject received treatment at the hospital, where he then assaulted another police officer attempting to photograph his injuries. He was ultimately transported to booking. One officer sustained a minor injury.
BURGLARY, 141208007, 2500 block of Columbia Pike, The victim/proprietor told police his reataurant was burglarized sometime between 0400 hours on 12/7/14 and 0815 hours on 12/8/14. Numerous items were thrown on the floor and money was stolen from the cash register. There is no security footage from inside the restaurant or from nearby establishments. The investigation is ongoing.
POLICE INFORMATION/PETIT LARCENY/ATTEMPT LARCENY (SERIES),141208038/040/041/046/047/061, 1100 Blk N Randolph St, 1100 Blk N Vermont St, 4100 Blk Washington Blvd, 4400 Blk Washington Blvd, Sometime between 1430 and 1547 hours on 12/8/14, several packages, belonging to these addresses, were found to have been opened and tossed into nearby bushes. A witness told police he observed a subject walking around in a narrow walkway typically used by residents only. The witness initiated contact with the subject who provided vague answers then left the area quickly. The subject is described as a black male, early 20’s, 6’01”, thin build, wearing a dark colored winter hat with a thin white line around the top, and carrying a large black or blue duffel bag.
BURGLARY, 141209035, 6900 block of Fairfax Dr., Sometime between 0815 hours and 1750 hours on 12/9/14, unknown subject(s) entered the victim’s apartment and stole various electronics and a fireproof safe. The victims called police after they observed a front window had been pried open. There is no suspect information at this time.
