This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Peanut, a friendly “mystery mutt” who’s perfect just the way she is.
Here’s what Peanut’s owner, Rachel, has to say about her:
I’d like to introduce you to Peanut, a 4-5 year old dachshund mystery mutt. Peanut unmistakably has the long wiener dog body, but her face is where things get a little bit tricky. Some people think she is mixed with beagle and pug and others think she might have some chihuahua in her. Whatever she is, her mama thinks she is just perfect. I guess that makes her a one of a kind cutie!
Peanut was adopted from a local rescue organization who brought her all the way up from Texas! Her mama was a first time dog owner who didn’t know what she was getting herself into. Three and a half years later, through good times and bad, Peanut and her mama have an unbreakable and unique bond. Peanut has never met a face she won’t lick or a lap she won’t jump in. When not cuddling, Peanut loves doing tricks (for treats, of course), sniffing on walks, playing with toys, doing funny dances, eating chicken sausages and barking at the mailman (sorry, mailman!) While not a trained therapy dog, she is known for her therapeutic snuggles and soulful eyes, which have helped her human friends get through some tough times.
Peanut is a happy-go-lucky little lady with a BIG personality. Being a total ham, she would be honored and thrilled to be named Arlington’s Pet of the Week!
