Arlington Pet of the Week: Camo

Becky's Pet Care

This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Camo, a pit bull who loves long runs, socializing and doing tricks.

Here’s what Camo’s owner, Inga, had to say about him:

Hi! My name is Camo — short for Camouflage — and I am here to give the pit bull breed a better rep, or so my parents like to say! While I enjoy being a good ambassador, my main interests are napping, chasing after squirrels, getting squeakers out of toys and anything food related. I also love joining my humans on long runs and hikes.

My parents got me from a family in Culpeper seven years ago when I was just six weeks old, and introduced me to the Washingtonian life. While Shirlington is my home, I am well known around the National Mall, along the Potomac and on dog-friendly patios. Although some people are initially scared of me, I can usually win them over quickly with my constant smile and tail wag — though I’ve been told my tail is the most dangerous part of me — as I have cleared numerous coffee tables with it. What can I say, they are just the wrong height. When I really want to show off, I perform one of the many tricks I have learned or I brag about my agility experience. Being well behaved really pays off…a treat is usually close by!

So next time you see me trotting along or rolling around a grassy area, please feel free to say hello. Although I’m a pit bull, I don’t bite!

P.S. Shoutout to my doggie entourage: Brutus, Mojo, Szczesny, Rascal and Stanley!
