Arlington Pet of the Week: Tanner

This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Tanner, a golden retriever/cavalier King Charles mix with a huge heart. Here is what his owner, Tania, had to say about him:

I am writing to brag about my adorable little pup, Tanner! Anyone who knows me well knows that I could talk about this boy for hours. Tanner is the first dog I have ever had, and he has been the biggest joy. I had always begged my parents for one growing up, and when I lost my father very unexpectedly on Christmas Eve 2014, I couldn’t think of a better way to help me overcome the indescribable pain. He’s been a shoulder to cry on, partner in crime and best buddy. He has extremely fluffy ears, he is ALWAYS smiling and always smells like oranges. I think it’s funny how dogs can’t understand you, can’t speak, sniff you, make weird faces, lick/bite you but become the very best friends you will ever have (think about that with humans). Can’t imagine my life without this little guy.

Tanner is a golden retriever/cavalier king Charles spaniel mix, so I wasn’t really sure how he was going to look or how big he would become! He will be two on March 4, and weighs about 30 pounds, still small enough to where I can pick him up when I want to force him to cuddle :)
