Arlington Pet of the Week: Hops

This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Hops, an Australian cattle dog mix who likes to wear costumes and eat healthy treats.

Here is what his owner, Michael, had to say:

Hops has been an Arlington native for the past 6 years, and loves showing off his collection of scarves and bandannas on long walks through the Clarendon restaurant scene. An Australian Cattle Dog mix, Hops was rescued from a local adoption agency, and spent the first few years of his life taking his anxiety out on carpets, couches, and comforters. Fortunately, he has finally learned the world is not ending when Master goes to work, and now enjoys long naps, healthy treats, and getting his belly rubbed.

Hops loves the Holidays, whether it is putting on a costume for Halloween, or getting dressed up in red, white, and blue swag for Independence Day. He is super lucky to have his cousin Banjo (a Shepard mix) living nearby, and spends every Sunday at his (human) grandparent’s house running around the yard, wagging his tail, and being scared of the refrigerator.

With his thick fur coat, Hops likes cold weather, but can’t wait for spring to come so he can spend more time outside exploring Ballston and hanging out on the outdoor patios of his favorite Arlington restaurants.
