This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Taz, a 10-year-old cat who loves sleeping on laps and has a nightly yowling ritual.
Here’s what his owner, Rachael, had to say:
This adorable green-eyed wonder’s name is Taz! He is a little over 10 years old and he and his sister Rox (not pictured) were adopted from Animal Care and Control in San Francisco, CA when he was roughly 2 months old. After a very exciting road trip across the country, he now lives in Arlington and enjoys avoiding the snow every winter and the heat and humidity every summer.
This stud has a lot to say and he sure likes to speak his mind! He’s developed a specific “meow” for everything including voicing his displeasure, desires, and his nightly yowling ritual. He is also very handsy and likes to reach and grab for everything he wants. It’s like having a pet raccoon, really. He can pick up a piece of kibble from the ground, lift it to his face, and eat it right out of his paw! He often tries to do this with anything anyone is eating.
One thing that Taz does not like is being outdoors. Taking walks on a harness? Hates it. Sitting on the balcony on a sunny day? Nope. Watching wildlife? He’d rather just stare at his mom and dad. Things that Taz absolutely loves is being around people. He loves being carried around the house and sleeping in laps. In fact, if you just look at him, it will cause him to start purring. He’s definitely our special little guy!
