Love for Tiny Art Gallery — “Good things come in small galleries, Pamela Huffman has learned. The mixed-media artist is a big fan of the tiny works that are free for the taking from the Free Little Art Gallery in Arlington’s Dominion Hills neighborhood… The gallery works much like the now ubiquitous little free libraries, which encourage people to leave and take books.” [Arlington Magazine]

Contractors Selected for Sewage Project — “PC Construction, a leading environmental design-build contractor on the East Coast, and Stantec, its lead design partner and global consulting and engineering firm, have been selected to design and construct a major biosolids upgrade project for the Arlington County Water Pollution Control Plant… The progressive design-build project, totaling approximately $175 million, will upgrade solids handling facilities and incorporate cutting-edge technology to sustainably transform wastewater to a renewable energy source and a nutrient-rich soil amendment.” [Press Release]

Cig Theft on Video — From Dave Statter: “This is the red car and three people involved in Monday afternoon’s robbery involving cigarettes and an assault at the 7-11 at S. 23rd & S. Eads in Crystal City. Radio traffic shows that minutes earlier there was a similar cigarette theft at the S. 15th & S. Fern 7-11.” [Twitter]

Video of Highway U-Turns — From Dave Statter: “Making a U-turn not once, but twice on an interstate highway. Also at I-395S Exit 8B for 110N. I get that this is likely someone trying to help a friend, relative, or even stranger jump their car. But at what potential cost? It had a good chance of leaving someone seriously hurt or dead. A really bad move.” [Twitter]

W-L Defeats YHS On Ice — “After a disappointing close loss in a league-championship match, the Washington-Liberty Generals bounced back a few days later to end their ice hockey season on a high note and claim some neighborhood bragging rights to boot. The high-school club team (10-3-1) defeated the Yorktown Patriots, 5-1, to retain the Arlington Cup in the annual all-county rivalry match, played March 8.” [Gazette Leader]

Tax Office Gearing Up for Collections — “The Arlington treasurer’s office expects to be chasing millions of dollars worth of delinquent payments over the coming year, roughly in line with recent norms… For fiscal 2023, which ended last June, the office collected $40 million in delinquencies, ranging from real-estate and vehicle taxes to ambulance bills and parking tickets.” [Gazette Leader]

Va. Lawmakers Support TikTok Bill — “Most of the Virginia congressional delegation voted with the majority Wednesday on a bill that would lead to a nationwide ban of the popular video app TikTok if its China-based owner doesn’t sell… Voting for the ban are Democrats Don Beyer, Jennifer McClellan, Robert C. Scott, Abigail Spanberger and Jennifer Wexton, along with Republicans Ben Cline, Bob Good, Morgan Griffith, Jen Kiggans and Rob Wittman.” [Patch, Press Release]
