Gun-toting teen arrested after Rosslyn convenience store theft

A teenage suspect is facing charges after an early morning theft from a store in Rosslyn.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, on the 1600 block of Wilson Blvd, a block with a 24-hour 7-Eleven store.

Police say a group of juveniles stole items from a store and one of the suspects was armed with a “ghost gun.”

The teens were later detained by police in the area. The armed suspect was charged while the others were just banned from the business .

WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2024-04200028, 1600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on April 20, a patrol officer was flagged down for the report of a larceny that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation indicates a group of four juveniles entered a business and stole merchandise, during which the juvenile suspect was observed with what was believed to be a firearm concealed in his waistband. Responding officers located the group of juveniles near Wilson Boulevard and N. Rhodes Street and detained them. During a search of the juvenile suspect, a ghost gun was recovered. Petitions for Underage Possession of a Firearm and Concealed Weapons Violation were obtained for the juvenile suspect. The juveniles were banned from the business.

Also in today’s crime report, police say they’re looking for a man who brandished a gun early Saturday morning during a dispute with employees at the McDonald’s drive-thru in Crystal City.

BRANDISHING (late), 2024-04200046, 2600 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 5:07 a.m. on April 20, police were dispatched to the late report of suspicious circumstances. The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 4:10 a.m., the unknown male suspect was in a drive-thru at a business when he became engaged in a verbal dispute with an employee. The suspect then pulled his vehicle into the parking lot, verbally confronted a second employee and allegedly brandished a firearm before fleeing the scene in a dark sedan.
