ACPD announces arrest in Crystal City bank robbery

A 63-year-old Florida man has been arrested following the robbery of a Crystal City bank Monday morning.

Police say the man, who’s accused of passing a note to a teller and fleeing with stolen cash, was “identified and subsequently taken into custody in Washington, DC on [Tuesday] with the assistance of Metro Transit Police Department.”

Online records suggest the suspect has at least one previous arrest, three years ago in Florida.

The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is announcing the arrest of a suspect following a bank robbery in the Crystal City neighborhood. Dave Jobson, 63, of Florida has been charged with Bank Robbery. He is being held in Washington DC pending extradition to the Commonwealth of Virginia.

At approximately 11:37 a.m. on August 5, police were dispatched to the Bank of America located at 1425 S. Eads Street for the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the bank, passed a note to the teller demanding money and implied he had a weapon. He then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen or displayed, and no injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and subsequently taken into custody in Washington, DC on August 6 with the assistance of Metro Transit Police Department.
