ACPD: Armed men in ski masks rob man of jewelry near Crystal City

A trio of men wearing ski masks, at least two of whom were armed, robbed a man of his jewelry yesterday near Crystal City, police say.

The incident happened around 12:45 p.m. Thursday on the 2400 block of Richmond Highway.

“At approximately 12:50 p.m. on September 5, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery,” said an Arlington County Police Department crime report. “Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his parked vehicle when the suspect vehicle, described as a black sedan, pulled in front of him. Two suspects exited the vehicle, brandished firearms and forced the victim from his vehicle.”

“The suspects stole the victim’s jewelry and entered his vehicle before reentering the suspect vehicle, driven by a third suspect, and fleeing the scene,” the crime report continues. “The victim sustained minor injuries and medics evaluated and released him on scene.”

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspects.

“The investigation is ongoing,” ACPD said.
