An Arlington County Police motorcycle officer was injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened on N. Underwood Street, in the East Falls Church area near Bishop O’Connell High School.
“At approximately 2:28 p.m. on September 17, police were dispatched to the 2700 block of N. Underwood Street for a crash with injuries involving an Arlington motorcycle officer,” ACPD spokeswoman Ashley Savage tells ARLnow. “The officer was transported to an area hospital with injuries considered non-life threatening.”
“The driver of the other involved vehicle remained on scene,” Savage added. “The crash remains under investigation.”
Initial reports suggest the officer suffered a broken ankle. Savage said the vehicle that collided with the officer was driven by a private citizen and was not a commercial vehicle.
