Man charged with brandishing BB gun in Pentagon City

A man has been arrested and charged with brandishing a gun at a local hotel.

The incident started shortly before 6 a.m. at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Pentagon City, according to scanner traffic, and ended with an arrest at gunpoint near the Army Navy Drive side of the Pentagon City mall.

The gun turned out to be a BB gun, Arlington County police said. No one was hurt.

BRANDISHING, 2024-10280025, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 5:55 a.m. on October 28, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, it was determined security personnel observed the male suspect allegedly walking inside a building carrying what appeared to be a firearm. A short time later, two additional security personnel observed the male suspect in a parking garage and confronted him during which he brandished what appeared to be a firearm. Security personnel then called police and responding officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody. No injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, a BB gun was recovered. [The suspect], 46, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Brandishing (x3) and Assault and Battery (x3).
